如果候选人符合以下资格，外国公民可以直接申请在大学或其他教育机构学习：
（1）18岁或以上；
（2）获得相当于或高于中国高中毕业生的教育水平；
（3）身体健康；
（4）有效的护照和其他有效的国际旅行证件。
计划在中国学习超过六个月的外国学生应在中国驻本国大使馆或领事馆申请X签证，填写外国学生在中国学习签证申请表（JW202），并持有学校的录取通知书。
作为临时访客，在中国大学或其他机构学习之前，外国学生应使用JW202表格和学校的录取通知书在北京市公安局出入境管理局办理签证和居留许可。
Foreign citizens may apply directly to study at universities or other educational institutions if the candidate meets the following qualifications:
（1) 18 years of age or over;
(2) Having obtained an education level equal to or higher than a Chinese high school graduate;
(3) In good health;
(4) Valid passport and other valid international travel documents.
Foreign students planning to study for more than six months in China should apply for an X Visa at the Chinese embassy or consulate in their home country, complete the Application Form for Visas of Foreign Student Study in China (JW202) and hold an admission letter from the school.
As a temporary visitor, before studying in a Chinese University or other institution, a foreign student should process his or her visa and resident permit at the Entry-Exit Administration of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau with the JW202 Form and the admission letter from the school.
